How Can I Be Reminded After Closing the Page? Use a Calendar File, Not a Webpage Timer

A webpage timer needs the page to keep running. To close the page and still get a reminder later, import your chosen reset time into a calendar.

1. What notifications from this page can do

Notifications from this tool are triggered by the webpage. You must actively allow browser notifications, and the page must still be running. Device sleep, suspended tabs, or system background restrictions can delay a notification.

Allowing notifications does not make this website keep running after you close the page. It also does not sync your personal timer to other devices.

2. Steps to export a calendar reminder

  1. Add your tool and reset time on the personal timer page.
  2. In the waiting list, select the calendar button for the corresponding timer.
  3. Download the .ics file, then open or import it with your calendar app.
  4. Check the event date, time, time zone, and reminder settings.
  5. Confirm that the calendar app has notification permission; if you need reminders across devices, check the sync status of your calendar account.

3. Changing time zones does not change the original moment

Exported events use UTC to represent an absolute moment. Calendar apps normally display that moment in their own time zone, so you may see a different hour in another time zone.

That does not mean the event changed. The important step is choosing the correct device time zone when you enter the time; if the original input was wrong, the exported file will faithfully retain the wrong target time.

4. When the time arrives, still confirm in your account

A calendar reminder means only that “the time you set has arrived.” It does not verify that allowance has actually reset, that an official promotion applies to you, or that a service outage has ended.

If you import the same file more than once, your calendar app may update or duplicate the event. Check that your calendar keeps only the entry you need.
